Villa Jauss
The Villa Jauss is a cultural center in Oberstdorf im Allgäu . The villa, built in 1885 by master brewer Melchior Jauss from Seeg im Allgäu, is located in the Fuggerpark (Jaussgarten). The architectural models for the building with a block-like foundation made of stone and a wooden screen were houses in Bolzano . It was not until 1961 that the municipality of Oberstdorf acquired the property. The villa's premises are used for non-profit events and cultural exhibitions by the Villa Jauss eV initiative . The permanent exhibition includes parts of the foundation of the Oberstdorf collector Hugo J. Tauscher. Original drawings, etchings and lithographs from this foundation by artists such as Heinrich Zille , George Grosz , Oskar Kokoschka , A. Paul Weber , Horst Janssen , Joseph Beuys , Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec , Henry Moore , Marc Chagall , Pablo are in five rooms of the house Picasso , Salvador Dalí , Antoni Tàpies and Joan Miró can be seen. The building is a historical monument.

Villa Jauss, together with the city of Immenstadt ( Museum Hofmühle Immenstadt ) and the city of Sonthofen ( market hall Sonthofen ), is the venue for the art exhibition Die Südliche (2006, 2009, 2012, 2015).
