Villa Sonnenhof
The Villa Sonnenhof is a stately villa in Eduard-Bilz-Strasse 46 (formerly Sophienstrasse 18) in the Oberlößnitz district of the Saxon city of Radebeul , directly on Eduard-Bilz-Platz and Augustusweg . The building was built by the Ziller brothers in 1885/1886 for the Niederlößnitz lawyer Georg Hecker. The villa had been a listed building since at least 1979 during the GDR era .
description
The two-storey, under monument protection standing Villa is located in the former Ziller's Sophie Street at the corner of Augustusweg and the former royal court, today Eduard Bilz Square . On the left is the Ziller- Villa Falkenstein , on the right the Villa Antonie Henrici, also by the Ziller brothers .
The plastered building with sandstone and plaster divisions has a flat hipped roof with a latticed roof platform and weather vane. The roof cantilevers well, and between the consoles supporting the eaves there is an ornamental jar painting made of stenciled jugs between palmettes. The roof is centered in the main view for Eduard-Bilz-Straße a dormer window in the style of Neo-Renaissance with side volutes and a small obelisk on top. The main view itself consists of four regular window axes with sandstone walls and straight roofs, of which the two middle ones on the ground floor have decorations in the form of acroters .
In the left side view to the south, offset to the rear, there is a three-axis side elevation with a small oval dormer window, the same one in the north. Before emerging through the side projection reserves the street stands a wooden, glass-enclosed veranda with gittergefasstem outlet on top and with a staircase . In the right side view, facing Augustusweg, the entrance is next to a single-storey bay window .
The park-like garden plot in which the building is located is considered a work of landscaping and garden design .
In 2010, the clients received the client's award from the city of Radebeul for the sensitive renovation.
history
From 1920 to 1930 at the latest, the villa was owned by the architect and Dresden professor Richard Müller .
