The former Villa Zapf at Wilhelmstrasse 13 in Heilbronn is a classicist building.

History and description

The villa , which also had a garden, was built in 1863 for the merchant Chr. Zapf according to plans by the local architect Franz Weisert. It has a symmetrically structured facade; the arrangement of the windows emphasizes the central axis and the cornices emphasize the horizontal lines. The window sills rest on consoles and protrude on the upper floor. The piano nobile is highlighted by classicist window frames, the mezzanine floor above has oculi and box cornices.

The wrought-iron roofing of the entrance area is in French Art Nouveau shapes from around 1900. The floor mosaic and the turned balusters of the stairwell have been preserved, as have the paneled apartment doors.

After the Second World War, the police headquarters used the building. In 1961 the saddlery and upholstery wholesaler Carl Deeg & Cie. The house is now used gastronomically.
