House Mössner in Heilbronn

The Wilhelmstrasse 17 building is a listed building in Heilbronn .

description

The building was built for Friedrich Mößner in 1907/1908 by Emil Beutinger and Adolf Steiner . The facade is made entirely of sandstone and is structured by four columns in a colossal order. The pillars each have music- making putti at the top and a cornice or floor cornice . On this cornice there are twin columns that support the final eaves (cornice, main cornice, final cornice).

The Mößner heirs, who also owned the outbuildings 17/1 and 17/2, still owned the building after the Second World War, which the building survived almost unscathed. The business premises on the ground floor were used for a long time by the wallpaper, linoleum and carpet shop Horsch (owner Helene Mößner). Today, all three buildings, with the exception of the commercial space on the ground floor of house no. 17, are exclusively shared apartments for students.

Art historical significance

The building is described as follows:

“A characteristic of the modern facade design is the free use of historical style elements such as services, balusters and consoles, e.g. B. the attachment of putti instead of capitals, based on Art Nouveau. "
