Villau

Villau is a district of the municipality of Rommerskirchen in the Rhine district of Neuss in North Rhine-Westphalia .

location

Villau joins the village of Ramrath to the east . South-east of Villau is Hoeningen . The Strategic Railway Embankment runs northwest of Villau . The place is on the old Roman road Trier-Neuss .

history

Villau formed a Jülich enclave in the Electoral Cologne office of Hülchrath since the Middle Ages and in the early modern period. During the French occupation, Villau came to the Mairie Evinghoven. Since 1839 Villau belonged to the municipality of Hoeningen in the mayor's office of Evinghoven . In 1927 the mayor's office Evinghoven was renamed to Amt Evinghoven. On January 1, 1975, the Hoeningen community was incorporated into the Rommerskirchen community.
