history

Frixheim was first mentioned in 1129 as Frideshim . Since the Middle Ages, the small Gilbachdorf Frixheim belonged to the Dingstuhl Rommerskirchen in the Hülchrath office in the Electorate of Cologne.

After the French invaded in 1794, the area on the left bank of the Rhine became French. In 1798 the French divided the Rhineland into four departments (Rur / Roer, Rhine-Mosel, Saar and Donnersberg). Départements were divided into arrondissements , these in cantons and these in mairies . The Mairie Nettesheim was established as the lowest administrative unit in this area. This belonged to the canton of Dormagen in the Arrondissement Cologne in the Département de la Roer . After the withdrawal of the French occupation troops as a result of the collapse of the Napoleonic Empire in 1814, the Catholic Rhineland was awarded to Protestant Prussia at the Congress of Vienna .

After 1815 Frixheim became part of the municipality of Frixheim-Anstel in the mayor's office of Nettesheim and came to the district of Neuss , from 1936 it belonged to the office of Rommerskirchen-Nettesheim. On January 1, 1975, the municipality of Frixheim-Anstel was incorporated into the municipality of Rommerskirchen. The last mayor was Karl Klefisch (CDU), his deputy Hans Röhlinger (SPD). The last honorary community director was Alfred Brinkmann and his general representative was Hans Meisen.
