Vilma Nissinen (born November 19, 1997 ) is a Finnish cross-country skier .

Career

Nissinen, who starts for the Vuokatti Ski Team Kainuu, ran her first races in the Scandinavian Cup in Vuokatti in December 2015 , finishing 45th place over 10 km classic, 42nd place in sprint and 40th place over 10 km freestyle . In February 2015 she was Finnish junior sprint champion in Imatra and in February 2016 in Vörå . In addition, she became the Finnish junior champion over 5 km freestyle in Valkeakoski in March 2016 . At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2016 in Râșnov she came in 31st place in the sprint, 29th place over 10 km freestyle and ninth place with the relay and at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2017 in Soldier Hollow on 36th place Place over 5 km freestyle, 17th place in skiathlon and seventh place with the relay. She made her debut in the World Cup in November 2017 at the Ruka Triple , which she finished in 75th place. At the U23 World Championships 2018 in Goms she ran to 30th place in sprint, 20th place in skiathlon and 18th place over 10 km classic and at the U23 World Championships 2019 in Lahti to 13th place in Sprint and to eighth place in the 15 km mass start race. In March 2018 she became the Finnish junior champion in the 20 km mass start race in Kauppi . In February 2019 she got her first World Cup points in Cogne with the 23rd place over 10 km classic. In the 2019/20 season, she became the Finnish junior champion in the 20 km mass start race in Kontiolahti and finished 31st in the Tour de Ski 2019/20 . At the U23 World Championships 2020 in Oberwiesenthal , she achieved eighth place in classic over 10 km and with the relay.
