Vince Bahrdt (real name Matthias Bahrdt ; born August 1, 1971 in Hamburg ) is the producer, songwriter and pianist of the pop duo Orange Blue .

Private

Vince Bahrdt was born as the youngest child of his family in Hamburg and is the son of the former national handball player Fritz Bahrdt (* 1939). Vince's older brother Christian (* 1968) has three children; these inspired Bahrdt to write the song Amelie on the Orange Blue album Superstar .

Bahrdt learned to play the piano at the age of seven, and drums began at the age of 16.

He graduated from high school in Farmsen in 1991 . After his community service he studied physics from 1992 to 1993 at the University of Hamburg and then applied cultural studies (major in musicology) from 1993 to 1999 at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg . Shortly before completing his master's thesis, he broke off his studies in order to have more time for music. During his studies he lived in Lüneburg for three years, after which he moved back to Hamburg.

Bahrdt supports social projects such as the organization Plan International Deutschland e. V. This organization arranges sponsorships for children in developing countries. He donated his winnings from the Perfect Celebrity Dinner in May 2007 and the proceeds from the auction of a “private concert with Vince Bahrdt” in December 2007 to this organization.

Bahrdt and Baydar (Orange Blue)

In 1992 Bahrdt got to know Volkan Baydar through an advertisement in a Hamburg music magazine . Together with other musicians they formed a cover band . Bahrdt and Baydar worked together with various bands in the following years. In 1998 the band was already called Orange and the first appearances and releases of Orange Blue took place in 2000 with great success.

The debut album In Love With A Dream reached gold status, i. H. it sold over 260,000 copies and was on the charts for 32 weeks. The debut single She's Got That Light was penned by Vince Bahrdt, also achieved gold status, sold over 400,000 times and was in the charts for 31 weeks.

Solo projects

On November 2, 2007, his first solo album Mordballaden was released. According to his own information, Bahrdt worked on it for over seven years. In September 2011 his second album "Tief" was released - also on Vince Bahrdts own label Murdersound Records . The first release of the single of the same name took place in June 2011. On this album Bahrdt u. a. Duets with Udo Lindenberg , Cosma Shiva Hagen , Ben Becker and Siegfried Lenz . In 2017 Bahrdt published his third solo work "Mordballaden Live St.Pauli".

Other projects

Bahrdt gained experience from 1996 to 1999 by releasing an album and singles by the band Butter . There he could live out his talent as a drummer. He not only writes songs for his band, but also for other performers and clients:

Vince Bahrdt founded his own production company "Murdersound Productions" in 2004, "Murdersound Publishing" in 2006 and "Murdersound Entertainment GmbH" in 2007, of which he is the managing director.

  • Together with Patrick Bach , he has been singing the musical interludes in the children's cartoon series " Jake and the Neverland Pirates " since 2011 . Bahrdt also writes all of the German lyrics for the songs and dubs the German role of the pirate 'Bones'.
