modification
With the groundbreaking in July 2009, renovation and new construction began at the St. Vincenz and Elisabeth Hospital site. In December 2009, the foundation stone for the new building was laid by Cardinal Karl Lehmann . In 2010 the construction work should be implemented.
After the renovation work was completed, the acute medical departments moved together at the St. Vincenz and Elisabeth Hospital location between 2012 and 2013. The aim of the concept is the expansion of medical services, close cooperation between all professional groups beyond the boundaries of the specialist departments and operating facilities, as well as the use of medical and technical synergies. The St. Hildegardis Hospital location was closed in November 2017. At the St. Vincenz and Elisabeth Hospitals, the extension and interior fittings will continue while the hospital is in full operation at the “An der Goldgrube” location. In modular construction, two buildings should be added by the end of 2018.
