Viohalco (gr. ΒΙΟΧΑΛΚΟ ) is a Belgian mining company from Brussels with Greek roots. Important products are copper cables, tubes and semi-finished products. The company is listed in the Athex Composite Share Price Index and in the FTSE / Athex Large Cap on the Athens Stock Exchange and Euronext Brussels .

history

Viohalco was founded in 1937 and has been continuously traded on the Athens Stock Exchange since 1947 . In the 1970s, some of the company's systems were manufactured in Germany. In 1972, Demag delivered a three-strand curved caster, in 1978 Krupp Industrie- und Stahlbau delivered a rolling mill with a capacity of 30–50 t / h to Viohalco. The company operated temporarily as Steel Works of Northern Greece SA . The Viohalco Group today has interests in 90 companies and manufactures in Greece, Bulgaria, Romania and England.

The Elval subsidiary , whose ETEM SA division primarily produces aluminum profiles and lightweight components for BMW, Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche, among others, is known in Germany.

In 2013 the company moved from Athens to Brussels .
