Virginia Gray

Virginia Gray (born March 22, 1917 in Los Angeles , † July 31, 2004 in Woodland Hills , California ) was an American actress .

Virginia Gray was born into a Hollywood family. Her father Ray Gray was the director of the Pioneer Days, but without having achieved any major success. Her mother was a film editor in Hollywood. At the age of ten she played her first role in the silent film version of Uncle Tom's Hut . After only a few child roles, she left the film business to finish school. As an adult, she returned to Hollywood. For the most part, she only played leading roles in B-films. In total, however, she made over 130 films in the course of her career by 1970. In the 1930s she was briefly in a relationship with Clark Gable . Gray died of heart failure at the age of 87. She was portrayed by Anna Torv in the American television series The Pacific .
