The Marx Brothers in the department store (original title: The Big Store ) was the eleventh film by the Marx Brothers Groucho, Chico and Harpo. It was shot in 1941.
action
The young musician Tommy Rogers is co-owner of a department store . In order to support the music school where he learned to sing and to develop it into a conservatory , he wants to sell his share in the department store. This is trying to prevent Mr. Grover, the manager and fiancé of Martha Phelps, Tommy's aunt, because the balance sheets are curled up. He hires various men to get him out of the way. Detective Wolf J. Flywheel and the two brothers Ravelli and Wacky know how to prevent this. Eventually they catch Mr. Grover and put him behind bars.
Remarks
One of the classic Marx Brothers scenes in this film is the roller-skate chase through the department store.
