William Tannen (born November 17, 1911 in New York City , New York , † December 2, 1976 in Woodland Hills , California ) was an American actor .

life and work

William Tannen was the son of the vaudeville star and later film actor Julius Tannen , and brother of the actor Charles Tannen . He started his career in the theater. In the early 1930s he appeared several times on Broadway , for example alongside Katharine Cornell in the play Lucrece , which was performed in late 1932 / early 1933 at the Belasco Theater .

He began his film career at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer , where he was under contract from July 1934. William Tannen had many roles in his career (the Internet Movie Database lists over 300 appearances), but there were always supporting roles that were mostly " uncredited ", such as in Laughing Eyes , one of his first films. Willam Tanner married actress Donrue Leighton in 1935, but the marriage was soon divorced. He died on December 2, 1976 and was buried in Valhalla Memorial Park in North Hollywood .

William Tannen was dubbed by various speakers, including Manfred Schott and Eberhard Haar .
