The Marshall von Cimarron (original title: Cimarron Strip ) is an American western series from 1967, of which only one season was created.

action

US Marshal Crown is sent from Texas to sparsely populated Cimarron County in the late 1880s to maintain law and order. The city lies on the border with the Indian area , the No Man's Land . The area has hardly any organized government structures and is a retreat for outlaws . Accordingly, a difficult task lies ahead of the marshal, but Angus MacGregor and Francis Wilde stand by as deputies.

  • US Marshal Jim Crown comes to Cimarron from Abilene . When he arrives, the city does not have a sheriff and the nearest US Army fort is far away. It is now up to him to enforce the law in the border country to Indian territory.
  • Dulcey Coopersmith , an immigrant from England , happens to arrive on the same train as Marshal Crown in Cimarron. After her mother's death, she looks for her father there, who, together with a business partner , owns the local saloon , the Wayfarers Inn . However, her father has also passed away, and she takes his place in the saloon.
  • Angus MacGregor , an immigrant from Scotland , owned the Wayfarers Inn Saloon along with Dulcey's father .
  • Francis Wilde is a young St. Louis born reporter and photographer who was a friend of Dulcey's late father.

The 23 episodes produced had a length of 90 minutes each, which was unusual for western series of the 1960s. The series theme music was composed by multiple Oscar winner Maurice Jarre . Numerous movie stars have made guest appearances, including David Carradine , Joseph Cotten , John Saxon , Robert Lansing , Robert Duvall , Leslie Nielsen , Jon Voight , Beau Bridges , Harry Dean Stanton , Tom Skerritt , Seymour Cassel and Telly Savalas . In addition, well-known faces from film and television westerns such as Richard Boone , Pat Hingle , Slim Pickens and Jack Elam also appeared in guest roles.

Cimarron County was named after the river of the same name . It was incorporated into the Oklahoma Territory in 1890 and is now in the Oklahoma Panhandle .
