Virginie Besson-Silla
Virginie Besson-Silla (* 1972 in Canada ) is a French film producer .
Life
Virginie Silla was born in Ottawa , Canada in 1972 . Her parents were diplomats and Silla spent her youth in Mali , Senegal , the USA and France, among others . She graduated from the American University of Paris with a degree in Business Administration . In 1994 Besson-Silla started working for Patrice Ledoux , Managing Director at Gaumont . There she worked on Luc Besson's film The Fifth Element and later on Besson's Johanna von Orleans .
In 1999, Luc Besson founded EuropaCorp and offered Besson-Silla a position. A year later she produced her first film Yamakasi - The Samurai of Modernism . The film was a success and grossed $ 27 million.
Besson-Silla's brother-in-law is Vincent Perez . On August 28, 2004 she married Luc Besson . The couple has three children.
