Vitalie Pîrlog

Vitalie Pîrlog (born July 28, 1974 in Nisporeni ) is a Moldovan politician and lawyer. From September 14 to 25, 2009, he was the acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova.

Vitalie Pîrlog studied international law from 1997 to 2001 at the Universitatea Liberă Internațională din Moldova ( German  Free International University of Moldova ) in Chișinău . He then worked in the Moldovan presidential administration. He soon moved to the Ministry of Justice, where he worked in the international relations department. Pîrlog has represented the Republic of Moldova in intergovernmental legal bodies such as the European Court of Human Rights . On October 20, 2006, he was appointed Minister of Justice, initially under Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev and since March 2008 under Zinaida Greceanîi . After Greceanîi announced her resignation after the defeat of the communists in the elections in July 2009 , Pîrlog was appointed acting head of government by President Vladimir Voronin . He took over the official duties on September 14, 2009 and handed them over to Vlad Filat on September 25, 2009 , who was elected by parliament on that day as the new head of government.
