Vivek Oberoi ( Hindi : विवेक ओबेरॉय, Vivek Oberoy; also Viveik Oberoi ; born September 3, 1976 in Hyderabad , Andhra Pradesh ) is an Indian actor and son of Suresh Oberoi .

biography

Vivek Oberoi attended Mayo College in Ajmer . The NYU director recognized his talent while taking an acting class in London and took him to New York City , where Vivek received his Masters degree in film / acting. He was dating actress Aishwarya Rai .

When Oberoi auditioned for his first role in Company - The Law of Power , he was turned down by Ram Gopal Varma because he was too "soft" for the role of a gangster. In order to convince Varma of himself, Vivek retired for 10 days to work on himself. The film was critically acclaimed and Oberoi received two Filmfare Awards . His next films were the action flicks Road and Dum . The romantic film Saathiya - Longing for You brought him awards again.
