Kaal - The Secret of the Jungle ( Hindi : काल, Urdu : کال) is a thriller from India produced by Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan with Ajay Devgan and Vivek Oberoi in the lead roles.

In Orbit National Park in India two tourists are gone. Allegedly they were killed by tigers. Since then there have been many hunters who want to hunt the tigers, although this is officially prohibited. Even the park manager is not an obstacle, he can be bribed with money.
Dev Malhotra from Delhi is also involved in this campaign. He travels to the jungle with his girlfriend Ishika and friends Sajid and Vishal. There they meet the environmentalist Krish Thapar, who wants to prevent the slaughter of the tigers with his wife Riya.
Everyone in the jungle is now in mortal danger when they advance into the tiger's habitat. Quite unexpectedly, help comes from the mysterious jungle inhabitant Kali Pratap Singh. He tries to free the group from the dangers of the jungle.
But mysterious things continue to happen. Sajid, Vishal and Riya inexplicably perish in the jungle. Sajid was beheaded, Vishal died of a car explosion, and Riya was drowned in a well. When Dev and Kali find Riya's body in the well, Dev notices that he cannot see Kali's reflection in the water. He becomes suspicious and wants to quickly flee the jungle with his group before something bad happens.
When they finally leave the jungle behind, Dev checks his camera with the footage he had taken. Kali is nowhere to be seen in all of the recordings, because Kali, the protector of the jungle, is not a person, but a ghost.
criticism
Lexicon of international films : Rather atypical Bollywood production which, with its mixture of adventure and animal horror film, is aimed at a western market. The subjective camera suggests threat in “Blair Witch” fashion, but the superficial book and the bad and poorly managed actors do not allow any tension to arise.

- Shah Rukh Khan and Malaika Arora Khan made a guest appearance in the song Kaal Dhamaal at the beginning of the film .
- Priyanka Chopra was offered the role of Riya, but could not accept it because of other responsibilities.
- Vivek Oberoi was supposed to take on the role of Kaali Pratap Singh, he couldn't because he was on other filming. However, he later took on the role of Dev Malhotra.
