Viviano Orfini

Viviano Orfini (born August 23, 1751 in Foligno , † May 8, 1823 in Rome ) was an Italian cardinal of the Roman Church .

Life

Orfini, who came from the patriciate , became papal house prelate and trainee lawyer for the apostolic signature on June 5, 1778 . From June 20, 1778 to November 8, 1782, he was governor of Sabina, and from November 9, 1782 to February 1785, he was governor of Fano. Called back to Rome on February 14, 1785, he became a relator of the Consulta .

For on December 25, 1788 canon of the Vatican Basilica appointed, he left Rome after the fall of the Papal States and was on February 23, 1801 Cleric of the Apostolic Chamber . Member of the Congregation for Ecclesiastical Immunity since June 1, 1808 , he became President of the Ripe on September 23, 1814 and President of the Commission for the Roads of the Papal States on March 9, 1816. Since October 1, 1817 dean of the clergy of the Apostolic Chamber, he was also President of the Commission for Public Works on February 10, 1819, and from 1820 to 1823 also Prefect of Annona .

Pope Pius VII created Orfini cardinal on March 10, 1823. Orfini died barely two months later, before he could be given a title church.
