Vladimír Prorok

Vladimír Prorok (born July 28, 1929 in Poštorná , † June 8, 2014 in Prague ) was a Czechoslovakian gymnast and trainer.

Success as an active person

At the first European gymnastics championships in 1955 in Frankfurt am Main, Prorok was European champion on the ground and vice-European champion on the rings .

Coaching career

As coach of Czechoslovakia made Prorok since 1958 for a national high-flying gymnastics, the 1960 success of the bars Olympic champion from Rome, Eva Bosáková and then in the seven Olympic victories of Věra Čáslavská at the Olympic Games in Tokyo (1964) and Mexico City (1968) culminated. In 1981 the gymnastics supervisor of the DTB, Hans-Jürgen Zacharias, brought Vladimir Prorok to Germany as national coach . Most recently, Prorok lived with his wife Alena as a pensioner in Prague and devoted himself to his hobby, gardening.
