European Gymnastics Championships 1955
The first men's gymnastics European championships took place in 1955 in Frankfurt am Main . A total of 35 gymnasts from 20 nations took part in the competitions. The dominant nation was the Soviet Union , which won six gold medals, followed by the West German team with two first places.
