Vladimir Obradović ( Serbian - Cyrillic Владимир Обрадовић ; born February 4, 1981 in Belgrade , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a former Serbian tennis player .

Career

Vladimir Obradović played his first tournament on the ITF Future Tour back in 1998, and started playing more regularly from 2001. A year later he was appointed to the Serbian Davis Cup team and was allowed to play the fifth and insignificant individual in the game against South Africa . This was his only appearance in the Davis Cup.

Obradović studied from 2003 to 2006 at the University of Florida and also played college tennis there . There he competed at the ITA Men's All-American Championships and NCAA Division I Tennis Championships .

After his studies, Obradović played regularly on the Future Tour and occasionally on the higher endowed ATP Challenger Tour . In 2007 he won his only Future title in singles and his first two doubles. In Banja Luka , he was in a Challenger final for the first time, but lost with Diego Junqueira as a week before against the pairing Alexander Krasnoruzki and Alexander Kudrjawzew . In 2008 he won his only Challenger title. In Tunica Resorts he defeated the American duo Ryler DeHeart and Todd Widom at the side of Izak van der Merwe in the final . Shortly thereafter, in Izmir , he reached a Challenger semi-final in singles for the only time. In August of that year he reached his respective career bests with a 368th place in singles and 192th place in doubles.

In the following years he was rarely able to build on these successes, he often failed on the Challenger Tour in the first round. He won another future title in doubles, but fell out of the top 600 in singles and doubles at the end of 2009. In the following years, due to his world rankings, he played almost exclusively futures and won his fourth and last double title there in 2013. In May 2014 he ended his active career as a professional tennis player after a first round defeat. He then worked as a tennis coach.
