The Vocal Ensemble Erwitte has been uniting studied singers as well as musically trained amateurs into a choir with approx. 45 members since 1991. Founded as the "Vocalensemble Geseke", the choir soon found its permanent home in the Hellwegstadt Erwitte . A particular strength of the ensemble is its great diversity. The repertoire ranges from works of the Renaissance to oratorios with large orchestras to secular concerts, which are characterized by both musical precision and high humorous quality. Great emphasis is placed on the quality of voice training and special expression.

In its history so far, the ensemble has worked with the pianist Paul Cibis , the Wuppertal Symphony Orchestra and several times with the Bochum Symphony Orchestra . Appearances on WDR and ZDF are also part of the choir's history. The musical director Bernd Hense appears several times as the author of choral movements specially arranged for the vocal ensemble.
