Career

In 1985 Hoffmann moved from TuS Lerbeck to the A-youth of TSV Grün-Weiß Dankersen . In his first season in the senior division, he played for the second team in the association league and made it to the top division . From the 1988/89 season he was a permanent member of the first team in the 2nd Bundesliga . In 1995 he rose to the Bundesliga with GWD Minden, but moved within the league to Minden's rival TuS Nettelstedt, with whom he won the Euro City Cup twice in 1997 and 1998 . Through his eleven years of professional activity at Minden and Nettelstedt, he is still the record player in the Mühlenkreis derby with 21 appearances . In 1999 he joined the second division club SG VfL / BHW Hameln and rose again with the team to the Bundesliga. After relegation in 2002, the TV Großwallstadt signed him, with whom he played another year in the Bundesliga. Hoffmann then moved to the regional league team TSV Anderten , where he ended his active career in 2010 after seven years.

Since 2010 he has been the goalkeeping coach of Lehrter SV , who initially played in the 3rd division and currently plays in the Lower Saxony Oberliga .

Hoffmann played 16 international junior matches for Germany and reached fourth place with the team at the 1989 U-21 World Cup in Spain . The bronze medal was narrowly missed by a 22:23 against Yugoslavia.
