Volkhard Mindemann
Volkhard Mindemann , also Volchard Mindemann , (born April 26, 1705 in Bremen ; † May 15, 1781 in Bremen) was a lawyer and Bremen councilor and mayor .
Life
Mindemann studied law in Bremen, Pressburg and Halle . From 1727 to 1729 he worked as a legation secretary at the Bremen embassy in Vienna ; on his return to Bremen in 1729 he became secretary of the Bremen Ratskanzlei (city secretary). In 1736 he became a councilor in the Bremen council . From October 30, 1749 until his death he was mayor , succeeding Daniel von Büren IV, followed by Albrecht Gröning as mayor.
He was a sponsor of the Bremen German Society founded in 1748 .
His grandson was the doctor and writer Nikolaus Meyer .
