The building by-Rudhart-Straße 21 is a baroque residential building in the Upper Franconian town Weismain . It is Weismain's only baroque house. Under the number D-4-78-176-67 the house is protected as a monument by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation .
history
The house was built in 1731 on behalf of Johann Reich, who wanted to build on the modern baroque architecture of Bamberg , the capital of the former bishopric of Bamberg , with its expensive construction .
architecture
The building was erected as a two-storey hipped roof with two to four window axes . Both floors are architecturally very similar, with pilasters and floor and cornice cornices . All windows are provided with profiled and drilled sandstone window frames, in the window parapets of which curved plaster fields are attached. The entrance axis, which is decorated with pilasters on both sides and in which there is a round-arched, profiled portal on the ground floor, is particularly highlighted. The spandrels and the crown stone are adorned with angel heads. In the parapet above the gate is a medallion relief framed by acanthus leaf tendrils with a golden chalice and the initials "IR" (presumably for Johann Reich) in the center. The year "1731" is engraved above it. Between the two middle windows on the upper floor there is a niche with a figure of Immaculate .
