The Vordere Plattenkogel ( 2672 m above sea level ) is a mountain peak in the Gschlößkamm of the Venediger group in the north of East Tyrol (municipality of Matrei in East Tyrol ).

The Vordere Plattenkogel is a summit in the far east of the Gschlößkamm. It is separated from the Hinteren Plattenkogel ( 2741 m above sea level ) in the southwest by the Plattenscharte ( 2563 m above sea level ). It forms the final summit of the northern Gschlößkamm area and drops steeply to the north to the Gschlößtal and to the east to the Tauerntal . The Aussergschlößalm lies on the north-eastern slope of the Vorderen Plattenkogel. The Vordere Plattenkogel is insignificant in terms of mountaineering, the Wildenkogelweg leads past it to the southeast.
