Vrouwkje Tuinman (born September 14, 1974 in 's-Hertogenbosch ) is a Dutch poet , author , journalist and columnist .

Life

Tuinman studied culture and music . She has been working as a freelance journalist and reviewer since 1997 . She writes or wrote for the newspapers and magazines Volkskrant , Opzij , NRC Handelsblad , La Vie en Rose, Schrijven, Yoga, Akkoord, Zing, Zone030, Rails, Marie Claire , One, Utrechts Nieuwsblad and Trajectum.

In September 2004 her first publication appeared in the Netherlands, the volume of poems Vitrine , and in 2005 her first novel Grote Acht (Great Eight). In February 2004 Vrouwkje received the funding from Hollands Maandblad Poëziebeurs 2003/2004 and was nominated for the Libris Prijs. She received the CCS Crone-Scholarship in 2005 and was nominated for the Debutantenprijs 2006 and for the Selexyz Debutprijs. In October 2008 her novel Buurvrouw was published , which Maren Schürmann Verlag published in 2010 under the German title Nachbarin in a translation by Bettina Bach .

Tuinman was a member of the jury for the 2009 edition of the National Turing Poetry Competition. The jury selected the 100 best poems, submitted anonymously by amateur and professional poets.

In 2010 she received the Halewijn Prize of the city of Roermond .
