The Vulkatunha Gammon Ranges National Park (English Vulkathunha - Gammon Ranges National Park) is located in the east of the Australian state of South Australia , about 750 km north of Adelaide and 110 km from Leigh Creek . It covers about 1,280 km².

General

The national park has a dry, rocky wilderness with an impressive landscape. Deep gorges, towering mountains, tree-lined streams and freshwater springs characterize the park. The special geological and landscape conditions played an important role in the life of the Aboriginal tribe, the Adnyamathanha , who have lived in the area for a long time.

The national park provides a livelihood for native mammal species such as the yellow-footed rock kangaroo , for endemic fish such as the purple-dotted sleeper goby and rare plant species such as the Acacia araneosa tree .
