The WDR studio in Essen is one of eleven regional studios for West German Broadcasting in North Rhine-Westphalia and is responsible for television and radio reporting for the central Ruhr area. It is located in Essen city ​​center , III. Hagen 31.

Regional jurisdiction

The WDR Studio Essen is responsible for reporting for the central Ruhr area with the cities of Bochum , Bottrop , Essen , Gelsenkirchen , Gladbeck , Herne , Mülheim an der Ruhr and Oberhausen .

Productions

history

On November 8, 1963, an office in the building of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry at Lindenallee 56-58 began operations as the Essen WDR studio. On March 25, 2014, the WDR celebrated the 50th anniversary of the regional studio at Zeche Zollverein .
