Wacław Tomasz Depo (born September 27, 1953 in Szydlowiec near Radom , Poland ) is Archbishop of Częstochowa ( Czestochowa ).

Life

After graduating from high school, he entered the seminary of Sandomierz . On June 3, 1978, he received the sacrament of ordination through Piotr Golebiowski , Apostolic Administrator in the Diocese of Sandomierz . After a short period as a vicar, he began to study at the Theological Faculty of the Catholic University of Lublin , in December 1980 he obtained his master's degree and received his doctorate in 1984. In 1990 he became a Regens at the Sandomierz Seminary. On March 25, 1992 he was incardinated in the Diocese of Radom , where he worked as a professor of dogmatics at the Theological College in Radom . In 1999 Depo became chairman of the university directors' conference and from 2000 to 2006 he was assistant professor at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University (UKSW) in Warsaw.

On August 5, 2006, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . to the Bishop of Zamość-Lubaczów . He was ordained bishop by the Archbishop of Przemyśl , Józef Michalik , on September 9, 2006 in the Cathedral of Zamość-Lubaczów; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Radom, Zygmunt Zimowski , and his predecessor Jan Śrutwa . He is the lay representative of the Polish Bishops' Conference.

On December 29, 2011 Benedict XVI appointed him. to the Archbishop of Częstochowa . The inauguration took place on February 2, 2012.
