Forest at Winhöring (officially forest b.Winhöring ) is a district of the municipality Pleiskirchen in Upper Bavaria district Altoetting .

Forest b. Winhöring is located about three kilometers northeast of Pleiskirchen on the road from Geratskirchen in the north to Winhöring in the south.

history

The place is mentioned for the first time in 1326. At that time the center of a large forest scattered settlement , the chairman shaft "on the Öggen", which later became the 1967 resolution community harrows from. In 1721 it came into the possession of the Count of Toerring zu Tüssling and Jettenbach with Winhöring .

With the administrative reform in Bavaria as a result of the municipal edict of 1818, it was given the status of a district court municipality under the name Geratskirchen II, in contrast to the patrimonial municipality of Geratskirchen I. After the patrimonial jurisdiction in Geratskirchen I was abolished, the municipalities of Geratskirchen I and II became Geratskirchen I and II on December 16 1848 united to the municipality of Geratskirchen .

The municipality of Geratskirchen was renamed Wald near Winhöring on August 3, 1956. With the dissolution of the municipality of Eggen on January 1, 1967 in the course of the regional reform in Bavaria , Wald initially received a considerable increase in area. On January 1, 1972, however, it was incorporated into the Upper Bavarian municipality of Pleiskirchen.

Attractions

The parish church Maria, Hilfe der Christians is a neo-Romanesque complex, built in 1882. It has a baroque interior. Originally a branch of Winhöring from an ecclesiastical point of view, Wald became a school advisor in 1803 and a parish in 1897.

Associations in the village are the volunteer fire brigade Wald b. Winhöring, Lindeschützen Wald, Frauenkreis Wald, Men's Congregation Wald, VdK Wald and KSK Wald.
