Valjanzin Mikalaevich Jelisareu
Valjanzin Mikalajewitsch Jelisareu ( Belarus . Валянцiн Мiкалаевiч Eлiзар'еў, born October 30, 1947 in Baku ) is a Belarusian ballet master and choreographer and in 1985 received the honorary title of People's Artist of the USSR .
Life
Jelisareu graduated from the Vaganova Ballet Academy in Leningrad in 1967 and studied choreography at the Leningrad NA Rimski-Korsakov Conservatory with Igor D. Belski in 1973 . In 1973 he became chief ballet master at the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater of the Belarusian SSR in Minsk .
The 1982 UNESCO grant enabled him to complete a probationary period in the field of ballet directing in Paris . From 1992 to 1996 he was artistic ballet director of the Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater in Minsk. He then was director and artistic director of the ballet theater from 1996 to 2009. Since 1995 he has been a professor at the Belarusian State Music Academy.
Jelisareu has been a member of the European Council of Culture and the International Slavic Academy in Moscow since 1996 . He has also been a member of the Petrovskaya Academy of Sciences and Arts in St. Petersburg since 1997. From 2000 to 2008 he was a member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus.
In 2018, Jelisareu was appointed artistic director of the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater of the Republic of Belarus.
He is married to the opera director and professor Margarita Isworska-Jelisareua and has two children.
