Walten (St. Leonhard)

Walten ( Italian Valtina ) is a fraction of the municipality of St. Leonhard in Passeier in South Tyrol ( Italy ). Walten is located at around 1300  m slm in the Waltental , a left side valley of Passeier . The small town center is located approx. 7 km (approx. 9 km on the winding pass road) northeast of St. Leonhard, on the road to the Jaufenpass , and has about 330 inhabitants.

There is a primary school and several associations in Walten. The parish church is dedicated to St. Anthony of Padua . In winter there is a toboggan run and a cross-country ski run.
