Ried (Italian Novale) is a fraction of the municipality of St. Martin in Passeier in South Tyrol .

The area of ​​the Ried fraction extends mainly above the town of Saltaus and borders Riffian ( Vernuer ) in the south and the Kalmtal fraction in the north . Ried is divided into two areas: Ausserried and Innerried. 74 people lived in Ried in 2001 (2001 census). The fraction can be reached via a mountain road, Riederbergstrasse.
