Waltendorf is a district of the Niederwinkling community in the Straubing-Bogen district in Lower Bavaria . Until 1971 it formed an independent municipality.
location
Waltendorf is about four kilometers southwest of Niederwinkling near the Danube . The village of Irlbach lies on the other bank of the Danube .
history
In addition to Waltendorf itself, the towns of Petzendorf, Alkofen and Albertskirchen also belonged to the former chairmanship of Waltendorf. When the tax districts were formed in 1808/1811, Waltendorf came to the Mariaposching tax district . In the rural community directory of 1818, Waltendorf was the only one of 50 rural communities in the Deggendorf district court that was not already mapped out based on the tax districts and their sections.
The community Waltendorf was created in accordance with the boundaries of the parish Waltendorf. In 1838 she came to the newly established Bogen district court . According to the decision of the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior of November 16, 1970, the municipality of Waltendorf was merged with the municipality of Niederwinkling as part of the regional reform in Bavaria with effect from January 1, 1971.
