Walter Burghardt (born March 7, 1885 in Höngeda ; † August 17, 1938 in Pullach near Munich ) was a German politician ( NSDAP ).

Live and act

After attending elementary school and humanistic grammar schools in Mühlhausen and Aschersleben , Burghardt was trained at the war school. In 1905 he joined the 1st Lower Alsatian Infantry Regiment No. 132 in Strasbourg as a flagjunker . From 1909 to 1912 he served as a battalion adjutant, then from 1913 to 1915 as regimental adjutant. From 1914 Burghardt took part in the First World War with his regiment . In 1915 he was promoted to captain and entrusted with the management of a company. In 1916 he became an adjutant of the 39th Infantry Division . In September 1918 he was appointed to the Prussian War Ministry . In 1919 he was a major in the Army Resolution Office . In 1921 he settled as a farmer in Upper Bavaria.

Burkardt became a member of the NSDAP in 1923 and rejoined the party after it was banned in 1926 ( membership number 440.770). In 1932 he became a member of the Schutzstaffel (SS No. 45.555). In May 1935 he was appointed leader of SS Section II in Dresden . On January 30, 1936, he was promoted to SS-Oberführer . On October 1, 1936 Burghardt was in the staff of Rudolf Hess in Munich added.

From March 1936 until his death, Burghardt was a member of the National Socialist Reichstag for constituency 28 (Dresden-Bautzen) . Georg Poxleitner took over for Burghardt .
