Walter Gress

Walter Gress (born October 7, 1926 in Neckarsulm ; † December 4, 2001 in Welzheim ) was a German pastor and politician ( SPD ).

Life

Gress was pastor of the Evangelical Church in Württemberg and had passed the second theological service examination in May 1954. From 1956 to 1960 he was pastor in Neuenstadt am Kocher . In the state elections in Baden-Württemberg in 1960 , he surprisingly won the Heilbronn-Land I constituency for the SPD instead of the previous MP Josef Lang (politician, 1897) and then belonged to the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg until 1964 . In the regional church he retired on June 11, 1960 because of the acceptance of the mandate. In 1962 he was also elected to the Neckarsulm municipal council. Gress later returned to church service and was most recently pastor at the Paul Gerhardt Church in Böblingen .
