Walter Hirzel (born February 10, 1881 in Ellwangen , † October 14, 1943 in Stuttgart ) was a German politician and administrative lawyer .

Life

Born as the son of a rector and senior teacher, Hirzel studied law in Tübingen after finishing school in Ellwangen and at the humanistic grammar school in Ulm . During his studies in 1899 he became a member of the Tübingen royal society Roigel , which later became a fraternity . After his exams he was a government assessor until 1908 , then a police officer in Reutlingen , where he headed the police office and was deputy chairman of the merchant court . In 1912 he went to Stuttgart as a police officer, where he worked as a department head at the city police office.

In 1918 he became a member of the Württemberg Citizens' Party / German National People's Party . In 1919 he became a police advisor . In 1920 he became a legal adviser on the board of the Stuttgart Police Office. In 1920 he ran unsuccessfully for the Reichstag . From 1924 he was financial reporter and from 1927 regional chairman of the DNVP in Württemberg. In 1928 he ran unsuccessfully for the state parliament. In 1928 he became a lecturer at the Württemberg Administrative Academy. From 1930 he was a paid local councilor . From 1932 to 1933 he was a member of the second chamber of the Württemberg state parliament . In 1932 he was a member of the investigative committee , in 1933 he became a member of the Black-White-Red Battle Front and was secretary of the board.

In 1933 he became an honorary adviser to the State Ministry with the title of City Councilor. In the same year he became city ​​treasurer and full-time first alderman with the title of State Councilor and deputy to the mayor Karl Strölin . In 1937 he became a member of the NSDAP (membership number 5,892,796). He became First Deputy Chairman of the Württemberg Savings Banks and Giro Association .
