Walter Ludwig

Walter Ludwig (born April 2, 1953 in Bad Tölz ) is a Brigadier General in the Army of the German Armed Forces . From 2012 to 2015 he was also Head of Logistics and Support in the Army Command in Koblenz .

Military career

Training and first uses

Ludwig joined the German Armed Forces in the 4th / Pioneer Training Battalion 210 in 1973 . From 1975 to 1978 he studied economics at the University of the Bundeswehr in Munich . He then returned to the troops and was a platoon leader in the 210 heavy engineer battalion , also in Munich , for three years . From 1981 to 1986 he was the pioneer Demonstration Battalion 220 at the same location company commander .

General staff training and service as a staff officer

From 1986 to 1988 Ludwig completed the 29th general staff course at the command academy of the Bundeswehr in Hamburg and was then deployed as a G4 Op in the staff of the II Corps in Ulm . This was followed by participation in the US General Staff training from 1990 to 1991 in Fort Leavenworth , Kansas . Back in Germany, Ludwig was deployed to the Army headquarters in Bonn . From 1992 to 1994 he was commander of the Pioneer Battalion 801 in Storkow (Mark) . This was followed by an activity as a lecturer in troop leadership and tutor at the 37th General Staff course in Hamburg. His next assignment was in the LANDJUT staff in Rendsburg and as department head G4 in the staff of the IV Corps in Potsdam . There he was promoted to Colonel i. G. In the year 2000 Ludwig became group leader II 1 and deputy general for army armament in the army support command in Koblenz . In 2002, Ludwig was head of the Army Repair Logistics team . From 2004 to 2012 he was Department Head III and General Army Armament in the Army Office , Cologne .
