Walter Machtemes (born December 25, 1949 in Witten ) is a German spatial planner, sociologist, philosopher, physician and university lecturer as well as author and lives in Oberhausen .

Life

From 1960 to 1968 Walter Machtemes attended the boys' high school in Witten . He was the only working class child in his year. With the beginning of his studies, Machtemes got involved in social and marginalized group projects, in Third World work and in basic educational work; From 1976 to 1986 he did development education work and project support in South Asia. From 1985 to 1993 he worked with convicts.

Degrees

Machtemes completed a degree in spatial planning at the University of Dortmund from 1970 to 1975 , which he obtained as a Dipl.-Ing. completed. Services

At first, Machtemes was active in adult education. Walter Machtemes has been honorary professor for medical sociology at the medical faculty of the University of Duisburg-Essen since 2007 . After working as an assistant doctor for psychiatry and neurology in 2000, his primary field of work was in the fields of medicine / psychology / sociology.

Until 2013, Machtemes was the head of the academy and studies at Medikon Oberhausen, an EU model project and non-profit educational company and partner ; he continues to work there as an honorary employee. Since 2014, Machtemes under Manfred Nelting has been the medical director of the "Gezeiten Haus Oberhausen GmbH" founded by Nelting, a private day clinic of the Nelting family for psychosomatic medicine and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).
