Walter Zieseniss

Walter Zieseniß (* 25. January 1954 , † 24 July 2012 in Barsinghausen ) was a German farmer , local politicians of CDU and Mayor Barsinghausens.

Life

Walter Zieseniss grew up as the son of farmers on their farm in Nordgoltern . He attended the Goethe School , where he passed his secondary school leaving certificate. He then trained as a farmer and passed the journeyman's examination at the age of 17. As a result, he made his high school diploma and then studied agricultural sciences at the University of Osnabrück . During this time he was already at the age of 21 years for the country people - Chairman elected. At 22 he joined the CDU. After the death of his father in 1976, he took over the farm of his parents with the title of graduate agricultural engineer.

After Zieseniss joined the CDU, he was elected to the Barsinghausen City Council in 1986. From November 1, 2006, he took over the office of Mayor of Barsinghausen.

In addition, Zieseniss volunteered, for example, in the Protestant church, as a local fire chief of the fire department Nordgoltern and in social associations .

Around two years before the end of his regular term of office, Walter Zieseniß died unexpectedly of a heart attack. The Christian Democrat was married and had two sons. His funeral at the Großgoltern cemetery with around 800 guests, during which Max Matthiesen , member of the state parliament , gave a farewell speech, was the largest funeral service in the history of the place.

Following the proposal of the Barsinghausen city administration, the city council decided at the beginning of October 2015 to name a street in the Mayor-Zieseniss-Weg in remembrance of the local politician for the new development area Alter Sportplatz .
