Wang Wei-hsu (born October 12, 1996 ) is a Taiwanese sprinter .

Athletic career

Wang Wei-hsu gained his first international experience at the 2013 Youth World Championships in Donetsk , where he was eliminated in the first round of the 400-meter run with 49.06 seconds. The following year he was eliminated in the first round of the 400 meters at the Asian Junior Championships in Taipei and finished fourth in the Taiwanese 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 10.71 minutes. At the beginning of October, he retired from the Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea, with the season ahead. In 2015 he was also unable to qualify for the final at the Asian Championships in Wuhan with 48.32 seconds over 400 meters. At the 2017 Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar , he finished fourth in the 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 06.51 minutes. He then took part in the Summer Universiade in Taipei and was disqualified there with the relay in the final. In 2018 he took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta for the first time and was fourth there with the 4 x 100 meter relay in 38.98 s.

In 2019 he won the silver medal with the relay at the Asian Championships in Doha in 39.18 s and was eliminated in the semi-finals over 100 meters with 10.46 s. Then he reached the semifinals at the Summer Universiade in Naples , where he was eliminated with 10.67 s and with the relay he reached fourth place in 39.78 s.

In 2018, Wang became the Taiwanese 100-meter champion .
