The passenger ship Wannsee of Stern- und Kreisschiffahrt is used in the ferry service of the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe on the ferry line F10 from Berlin-Wannsee station to Berlin-Kladow .

prehistory

In Berlin there was already a ship called Wannsee . It was built as a pioneer on the Moselle in 1929 and came to Berlin in 1952 . After the renovation at the Teltow shipyard , it went into service as Wannsee in 1952 . In 1981 it was sold back in the direction of the Moselle with the renaming in the city of Limburg and in 1992 in Marienburg . In the same year 1992 the ship was named Stadt Merzig and was in use on the Saar until 2007 . In 2007 the ship was sold to the shipping company Croisiere in France and has since been sailing under the name Julie on the Canal du Rhône-au-Rhin between the Kembs / Niffer locks and the port of Mulhouse .

history

Since January 20, 2014, a new 44.55 meter long and 8.03 meter wide passenger ship named Wannsee with a diesel engine has been in service on the F10 ferry line. The mean draft is 1.0 meters. Two Deutz AG motors with 240  kW each drive the ship. Another Deutz engine with 70 kW was installed to provide power on board. The keel was laid at the shipyard of Deutsche Industrie-Werke GmbH on June 19, 2013.

The ship is approved for 300 passengers. Seats are provided for 152 passengers, 116 of which are permanent in the front part of the ship. The rear part only has folding seats on the sides, there are 60 spaces for bicycles. Part of the interior of the ship is intended for guests with limited mobility such as wheelchair users.
