The coat of arms of Norderney was a German bathing ship of the shipping company Cassen-Tours, a joint company of the shipping companies Cassen Eils and AG Norden-Frisia .

history

The ship was built in 1967 with the construction number 84 at the C. Cassens shipyard and machine factory in Emden. The keel was laid on February 25, 1967, the launch as Frisia XII followed on April 14, 1967. The ship was delivered on May 11, 1967 with the name Donald Duck from the shipyard. Together with the sister ship Moby Dick , built in 1966 , it was used in the ferry service from Norddeich to Juist and Norderney as well as for excursions . In 1982 the Donald Duck was sold to the shipping company Cassen Eils, where it was first named Wappen von Eckernförde and shortly afterwards the name Wappen von Norderney . The ship was used from Norddeich, Norderney and Greetsiel for excursions to the neighboring islands, the seal banks and the Wadden Sea.

On February 23, 2016, the Norderney coat of arms arrived at the company DA Schiffsverwertung in Papenburg for demolition , where it was scrapped the following month.

Technical specifications

The ship was powered by two marine diesel engines from Volvo Penta (type: TAMD 122 A) with 530  kW power , which acted on two fixed propellers via reduction gears. Two diesel generators from Mercedes-Benz (OM 615 and OM 617) as well as an emergency or auxiliary generator were available for the power supply.
