In the distant future, zombies have taken over the world and severely decimated humanity. The few survivors band together in clans, organize themselves and use guerrilla tactics to fight an overwhelming enemy. From then on David avoids speaking there. He is therefore classified as fit for breeding and imprisoned with Star, for whom he obviously has feelings. In captivity, his companion learns to speak with great difficulty. With the help of the seedy camp inmate Sliver, an ex-soldier who can also speak, David tries to contact his clan, which he ultimately succeeds. Nevertheless, Sliver turns out to be a traitor who obediently takes orders from a dubious man in order to stop David's resistance. In the course of the plot, however, Sliver defies the mysterious commanding officer and finally takes the side of David, who then openly rebels against the zombies.

At a different time, his older brother Brian fights the omnipresent zombies under the command of a female general with other like-minded people. Your goal is to locate the undead base camp you are looking for. Brian found this place at some point from records of his captured brother, which he happened to come across. With a troop of brave survivors and envoys from another clan, the fighters successfully storm the zombie farm. In the ensuing fighting, all monsters are liquidated and the prisoners are freed. In the hour of victory, Sliver reveals his dark secret to the female general: A council of high-handed people controls and promotes those zombie farms so that they can live side by side without being disturbed and safe. For the clans, whose highest commandment is the annihilation of all living dead, the deed is an affront that costs the life of the responsible man in the council of the urban settlement. At the end of the film, the fighters choose a life away from the well-guarded and controlled refuge, while David is mistaken for a zombie by a security guard and shot. Years later, his son can be seen growing up alongside his speaking mother, Star.
