The Warema Renkhoff SE (SE is in this case for Societas Europaea ) is the European market leader for technical sun protection products with headquarters in Marktheidenfeld . Warema stands for WA gner RE nkhoff MA rktheidenfeld.

history

The company was founded in 1955 by Hans-Wilhelm Renkhoff and Karl-Friedrich Wagner in a former horse stable and has developed into Europe's market leader for technical sun protection.

After Karl-Friedrich Wagner died in an accident in 1958, Hans-Wilhelm Renkhoff continued to run the business alone. Since then the product range has been continuously expanded.

The group of companies was converted into a holding company in 1992 and continued under the name Renkhoff AG. It consisted of the four companies Warema Renkhoff GmbH, Warema Sonnenschutz GmbH, Reko Kunststofftechnik und Maschinenbau GmbH and Reko electronic GmbH.

The daughter of the company's co-founder Angelique Renkhoff-Mücke has been running the company since 1998. In 2001, she became CEO of the holding company . From 1999 to 2006, her father acted as chairman of the supervisory board in an advisory capacity until he retired due to age. Hans-Wilhelm Renkhoff died in March 2011 at the age of 84.

In 2005, Warema founded a subsidiary in the Shanghai area (China). In 2009 the company group changed its name to today's Warema Renkhoff SE.
