Warren Adler

Warren Adler (born December 16, 1927 in Brooklyn , New York City , New York - † April 15, 2019 in Manhattan , New York City, New York) was an American writer .

Life

After finishing school, Adler worked for the New York Daily News . During the Korean War , he worked as a correspondent in Washington and his reports were published in every military establishment. His first novel was published in 1974.

After writing 24 novels, two of them, The War of The Roses and Random Hearts , were made into films. The War of The Roses was directed by Danny DeVito . Well-known actors involved included Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner . In the movie Random Hearts played Harrison Ford and Kristin Scott Thomas , among others . Adler's book series The Fiona FitzGerald Mysteries was broadcast as a series on American television. A total of twelve of his books were filmed, including Private Lies .

Adler died in April 2019 at the age of 91 of complications from liver cancer.
