The Wasserstrich is a left tributary of the Saleskbach in West Lusatia in Saxony .
course
The stream rises south of Koitzsch at the welts on the Lausitzer Platte and flows on its upper course at the edge of the Koitzsch forest east past Koitzsch. On its further course, the water stream is piped through the fields and reappears in Neukirch . The villages of Neukirch, Gottschdorf , Schwepnitz and Grüngräbchen stretch along the stream . Over its entire course, the water streak flows northerly through a largely flat landscape with a few knolls. After 12.6 km it flows into the Saleskbach in Grüngräbchen opposite the Schlossberg.
Between Schwepnitz and the Seidel rhododendron nursery , the route of the disused section of the Dresden-Klotzsche-Straßgräbchen-Bernsdorf railway runs on a bridge over the stream. As far as Grüngräbchen, the Erlenbruch-Oberbusch Grüngräbchen nature reserve extends east of the stream. At the southern exit of Grüngräbchen the water stream is dammed in the mill pond.
history
The water power of the creek was previously used in Neukirch and Gottschdorf to operate water mills. In the green valley at the southern exit of Schwepnitz the Mühlgraben was derived on the left side, which drove the grinding, board and bone mill belonging to the manor. The Mühlgraben, the Mühlteich and the Schwepnitzer Mühle no longer exist today.
In 1827 the two oak oaks and the back pond were created north of Schwepnitz; The new Schwepnitz fish ponds, which, in contrast to the large and small Triemigteich and the birch pond, are artificially dammed, were irrigated via an irrigation ditch in the center of the village that was derived from Pfarrgasse and the Froschquake. Between the oak oaks and the back pond, the front pond was created, with which the oak oak was later pierced. The stock pond was created in 1884 and in the middle there is a 30 m² island that is a bird nesting place.
In 1897 the brothers Traugott Jacob Rudolf and Traugott Jacob Heinrich Seidel acquired a large piece of moorland between Schwepnitz and Grüngräbchen and set up a rhododendron nursery there that has existed to date.
