Zweckverband Wasserversversorgung Mittlere Tauber
The Zweckverband water supply Mean Tauber (WVMT) is a municipal purpose association , the three cities and three municipalities, as well as industrial and commercial middle- Tauber Valley in northeastern Baden-Wuerttemberg with a total of about 40,000 inhabitants with drinking water supplies.

The chairman of the association is the mayor of Tauberbischofsheim, Wolfgang Vockel . A central waterworks in Tauberbischofsheim- Dittigheim in the Main-Tauber district serves the association members for joint water treatment and drinking water supply. There is also the seat of the association.

criticism
When deciding to build the Taubertal waterworks, the association members were aware, based on a study by Baurconsult , that going it alone would be more expensive than joining the large water supply association for Northeast Württemberg (NOW). When the Baurconsult study was available, the association assumed additional costs for the supply of water to association members of around 40 cents per cubic meter . Due to the fact that project costs for the construction of the Taubertal waterworks and the necessary pipes and drinking water lines in the association area have increased by over 40 percent compared to the planning, the water cost increases are around 90 cents according to current estimates, in the worst case 1.26 euros per cubic meter. According to accountants, what the citizen ultimately has to pay also depends on the additional measures taken by the individual municipalities .
